What is Cold Front?
We are a group of high schoolers who are passionate about ultimate. The weather elements haven’t stopped us from playing. We’ve played together since 2002, through the winter in cold, rain, wind, snow and in extreme heat.
We are a very diverse team, including, race, ethnicity, gender, religion and education. Foremost our players are best friends, hanging out over the weekends and staying in constant contact with each other.
About Ultimate
Ultimate is a great family game, easy to learn, with the bonus of lots of exercise. Best of all, it's a non-contact sport, self-refereed and the principle of fair play “spirit of the game” and sportsmanship is paramount. Our belief is that the spirit of the game is more important than the final score. The kids truly have fun playing Ultimate, and playing together as a team/family is what we all look forward to each week.
"Combining the non-stop movement and athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football, a game of Ultimate is played by two seven-player squads with a high-tech plastic disc on a field similar to football. The object of the game is to score by catching a pass in the opponent’s end zone. A player must stop running while in possession of the disc, but may pivot and pass to any of the other receivers on the field. Ultimate is a transition game in which players move quickly from offense to defense on turnovers that occur with a dropped pass, an interception, a pass out of bounds, or when a player is caught holding the disc for more than ten seconds. Ultimate is governed by Spirit of the Game™, a tradition of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the players rather than referees. Ultimate is played in more than 42 countries by hundreds of thousands of men and women, girls and boys."

More About Cold Front
Our team fundraises by selling gear and hosting
tournaments to help allow for more players to play by lowering registration costs, which includes paying for tournament entry fees, transportation and uniforms. Our team is well respected in the community; we’d like to be role models to the next generations of ultimate. Many of our players have gone on and played for great college & club teams.
